This luminous photo, of my Spirit Jewelry collection, is from a very talented visual content creator named Andrea Ferrer Facchi. If you’re longing to tell better stories - with your products or your business - she’s your woman.
Every morning a little douglas squirrel comes to my door and very carefully takes a hazelnut out of my fingers. They can be feisty little things and it's not the taking of the nut or even that it trusts me enough to take it from my hand that surprises me, it's the way her (it's a female) very sharp claws ever so gently wrap around my finger and her delicate plucking of the nut without ever pricking my skin. It makes my heart sing.
I love the photo and your description of the light in Utrecht!
I’m house and pet sitting in rural south central Texas this week. The beautiful, lush terrain nourishes my soul! Birds fill the huge trees along the creek and sing to Earl (the dog) and I on our morning and evening hikes.
I’ve not listened yet but just wanted to chime in about the light - love your description of Utrecht. What lifted my soul yesterday was a similar thing - the shimmer of a setting sun on a mostly calm ocean. The way the water caught the rays and showed them to me on the shore…it felt like I was surrounded by a million friendly souls. This was a day of huge transition, and I will carry the moment with me as a reminder that I am filled with and surrounded by light always!
Watching a fawn in my yard resting, or pausing for the day in my yard is truly elevating my soul. Knowing the fawn isn't having "thoughts" about their life, past or present, and just waiting for mom to return. Noticing the fawn bathing itself like a cat, self care. No hurries or worries, just lying in the cool grass under the shade of a tree.
Hi Lizzie & Mary! Thanks so much for your continued podcasts on the subject of Somatic Self Care. You make a great team with the balance of your respective personalities, and the content is fascinating! I appreciate the work that goes into each episode for you to bring such quality to us all. BTW, the length of the episodes at 30-ish min feels just right, too! 🙏🏻
The body holding emotions. Yes! I've often felt this. The body scan and idea to MOVE! Thank you both for your insight and knowledge and love. Peace to you all🕊
Your conversations today really resonated with me. I was wondering: how do I, as a teacher, look at my students to see what they might be feeling, without intruding on their space?
Mary I love listening to you Thank you for this chat today. Body scan idea - simple and powerful 💚
Thank you for listening, Dawn!

Morning hikes with Earl sound divine...

The sight of wild flowers with background of the Dolomites. How magnificent can nature be?
So magnificent!

You're so welcome, Marie!

I try to get in touch with what I'm feeling, and see the student with soft eyes. Then sometimes empathy and insight arrises...
Thank you both as always 🙏🏾
You're welcome, Julie
Thank you both 🙏🏾
Thank you both 🙏🏾
The sound of birds and my water fountain. The site of the plants and flowers working in my garden. So grounding and nurturing.
Ahhhhh yes the simple sounds of nature
Thank you. I really enjoyed your conversation. 🙏💫
You're so welcome, Nadezda!
