My impatience is one of my biggest shortcomings, along with its close cousins, judgment and snarkiness. They all come up for me when I’m trying to control things outside my control.

A difficult diagnosis to absorb when you work so hard to be healthy. You can’t fight genetics. You are not alone in having essential hypertension. If you were prescribed BP medication, please take it. There is a reason HP is called the silent killer. These bumps in the road cause us to reflect and keeps us humble. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving 💕

Thank you Lizzie.

Just what I needed today.

And sympathies over your blood pressure. I’ve been told I’m pre diabetic and my reaction has been outrage! What a learning opportunity. But hard.

I love your work. The style of how you work whether alone or with your Mam or Mary. I also understand impatience- my experience is restlessness. I’m over 60 now but when in my early 40s I ended up on blood pressure meds- and was impatient and annoyed with that too. I’m well and my pressure has been stable for years. So, no words of advise or wisdom but sharing some of the experience. You’re amazing. I envy that lake and boat. K

Lizzie, you have hit upon the source of one of the greatest frustrations of my life: non-acceptance. I was probably born with high blood pressure and high cholesterol yet I spent the majority of my life thinking I could change the way my body naturally functioned with yoga, fitness, a healthy diet and whatever else I would read about. I thought for decades there was something I was missing, something the doctors were overlooking that would put my body metabolism back on a "normal“ track without medication. We are fed such an information diet that we are 100% responsible for our body’s health. It’s true, to some extent, but there’s a part of our dna that we just can’t control. We just have to learn to accept that and that takes a certain amount of letting go of our programming that we should be able to control our health with diet and exercise. I still eat healthy and exercise, but the only thing that’s going to make my body not produce excessive blood pressure and cholesterol is taking a few pills. Took me around 30 years to accept that. Health & happiness to you, Lizzie💕
