I brought my travel yoga mat on vacation this week, but haven’t used it once. I also brought my computer, but have (mostly) ignored my emails.
Instead, I’ve spent the week at the beach: swimming out to the buoy each morning, eating warm pan-au-chocolat, watching my children teach themselves to swim. And, while the twins napped for hours each afternoon, reading.
Vacation is a location, but it’s also a state of mind. When we change location, do we bring our compensations and distractions along? When we actually press pause, do we judge ourselves for being “lazy”? Or, are we able to soften?
What does softening look like for you this week? What can you do to encourage a vacation state of mind?
Xx,
Lizzie

I sometimes feel guilty when I look at pictures and get transported there. This week I will indulge and take time without guilt to visit Colorado, Alaska, and Hawaii. those memories that I have in my mind and just indulge. Thank you for the reminder and the permission.
Just looking at your beautiful picture is a vacation moment!
May your vacation and meditation time be as peaceful as the crystalline waters…wow…
(And may your twins be sufficiently exhausted after their swim time!) Enjoy every moment.
