This is one of my favorites. One Blanket Backbend (pose #8 in Mama’s book Restore and Rebalance) is a deceptively simple way to shift your internal state. A few minutes lying here – eyes covered, heart open, belly soft – works wonders.
And just remember, the quality of your internal state absolutely matters. It is not selfish to take a few minutes of rest to tend to your energetic body. As a social animal, your internal vibration spills out into interactions with everyone you meet.

Upcoming opportunities to connect:
Shoulderstand is Mama’s favorite pose - and a powerful tool to shift into parasympathetic dominance. Enroll in our March masterclass and receive the recording to our Headstand session for free. Offer expires on February 14th.
Ready to become a certified Restorative yoga teacher? We’re only planning to offer one online training this year - and it starts soon.
Pranayama is often taught as a way to restrict the breath, using complex counting methods to achieve increasingly long holds. This focus on control leads to hardening. And practicing this way misses the delicious truth that the breath is breathing you. Join our March workshop Letting the Breath Breathe You: Practicing Pranayama With Compassion to learn a softer approach.
Do you want to practice more Restorative yoga, pranayama, and meditation? Join us for Silence is Everywhere: a three-day experiential Zoom workshop (with recording).
