I love my phone.
I love checking Instagram and writing scraps of ideas for this newsletter in my notes app. I ask ChatGTP to make recipes for me all the time. I listen to tons of music and podcasts and audiobooks. I’m obsessed with this meditation app. And I’m constantly taking photos of the twins.
But the presence of my phone has an accelerating, layering effect. Cramming texting, scrolling, and replying into the ephemeral bits of interstitial (in-between) time. All while feeling perpetually distracted.
One antidote is slowing down so that this interstitial time expands into something enriching. Which, more and more, I’m seeing as a luxury.
Like going for a short walk without my phone. Or wandering around in the garden, enjoying the pleasure of being in natural light and looking at the plants. Not to be confused with “working” in the garden. Or, practicing a Restorative Yoga pose.
Our next online Restorative Yoga teacher training starts on March 12th. It’s already more than half full. Does it make sense for you to join us? Reply here, and we can talk about it.
Lastly, here’s a free mini-course on Restorative Yoga to Support Your Menopause and Beyond.
Until next Sunday,
Lizzie
