Oh shit.
That’s exactly what I thought when I read this definition in Brené Brown’s brilliant new book Atlas of the Heart. Because resentment isn’t an emotion I’m comfortable admitting to myself. I’ll just stick with upset, thank you.
But the more I can connect with myself, by acknowledging what I’m actually feeling, the more I can connect with my children, partner, even you.
Restorative yoga is one of my favorite tools for connecting with myself. As Mama likes to say, twenty minutes of resting is a gift you give to yourself and the world at the same time.
