Nico and I are traveling today from Helena, Montana to Salzburg, Austria via a 12 hour layover in Denver, Colorado with four suitcases and two three year olds.
Please send hopes and prayers.
As an optimist I always have a book in my handbag. As a realist I also always have water and wet wipes and healthy snacks and some sweet treat - like Jelly Beans - to bribe the twins.
Today, I’m carrying Barbarian Days, a brilliant memoir about surfing and growing up in California in the 1970’s that won the Pulitzer Prize.
The other two books I savoured this summer are Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton and A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway.
Memoir in my favorite genre. I also love simple spirituality books like Wherever You Go, There You Are by Jon Kabat-Zinn and Living Untethered by Michael A Singer.
What have you read recently that you can recommend?
Big love,
Lizzie
Let’s talk about FOMO (fear of missing out):
Feeling some FOMO about my recent retreat in Montana? Mama and I are planning on returning August 3-10, 2024. Please email info@featheredpipe.com to get on the list to be notified when registration opens.
And why not join me in southern Italy next month? Right now it’s 12 yogis and me doing Slooow Flow in the mornings and Restorative in the afternoons. Plus Italian food. Three spots remain…
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles. A beautifully written novel with unforgettable characters.
And for memoir, Crazy Brave by Joy Harjo.
Thanks for your recommendations. 🙏
This summer I am rereading Pat Conroy.
