Thursday morning: 5:45 am
meditating in my studio
birds chirping, incense burning
suddenly the crunching of the garbage truck.
I sprint outside
raindrops on my pajamas
only to watch the truck drive away
leaving our overflowing garbage bin
forgotten inside the gate.
Sitting back down to finish the session
I watch my mind shift
first from annoyance
through acceptance
and then soften into forgiveness.
It’s a small example, perhaps
but it prompted me to ask:
Where else can I soften into forgiveness this week?
Where can you?

This reads like a poem.
This is lovely. And I feel myself here with you. I’d forgive my husband or my son or my mom or a friend (anyone) right away if they did this. Why is it so hard to forgive myself? That’s the practice…💞
