I spent last week with the twins in the mountains.
Nico was working in Salzburg, so I had the kids for “cousin ski week”. Picture me and my sister-in-law wrangling four boys ages 3, 3, 4, and 6 into the gondola. We had some help from my in-laws, but as you can imagine, it was an exhausting week.
I didn’t un-roll my yoga mat once. Zero time for formal practice. Zero space for somatic strength training. Zero silence for Restorative yoga. Zero opportunity to meditate. Just keeping track of all those ski boots and helmets and gloves felt like a full-time job. Most nights I crawled into bed at eight o’clock.
Sometimes, life is more important than practice and I miss a few days. Or weeks. But I’m learning to cultivate the softness to climb back onto my mat with grace. Not self-criticism or guilt. Just grace. Do you know what I mean?
Today I’m sharing a video called Grace not Guilt: A 15 minute asana practice for when you haven’t practiced in awhile
And lastly, did you miss our recent live Savasana Session about Rest and Resiliency? Here’s the recording for you. May it serve your practice.
Until next week,
Lizzie
Upcoming ways to connect:
Relax and Renew® Level 1 is my only online Restorative yoga teacher training in 2023. And it starts on March 2nd!
How about an in-person Restorative teacher training in Paris?
Or wanna come on Restorative retreat with me? August in the mountains of Montana with Mama and September near the beach in Southern Italy are both already half full. What are you waiting for?
Definitely when I was a busy mom with full time employment outside the home, there were missed weeks and days when yoga or meditation just did not get done. Now that I am a sixty year old grandmother and have time for practice, I look back on my younger self with more kindness than I had when I was in it. Finding that space for this kindness is what I wish for all! Thanks for your post.
oh how i miss those days! xo
